People have been asking the differences between our current production HAHN 250/B2 & the 400/B that’s currently in design, and soon to be in prototyping stage. Below is a comparison showing both machines, including the main differences & standard features on both machines. The 250/B2 & 400/B are built on the same basic frame, with the splitter beam on the 400/B being a bit stronger to handle the increased splitting force. Comparisons show standard features on both machines.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve made some major upgrades to our 250/B firewood processor and we will be delivering our first batch of Mini-Pro 250/B2 firewood processors in the next week or so. 250/B2 Upgrades Include:
Of course the new Mini-Pro 250/B2 includes all the standard features of the original 250/B including:
Let us know if you have any questions on the new 250/B2. How does the HAHN Power + Splitting System work? The traditional ways of getting both speed & power from a hydraulic cylinder, including 2 stage pumps, multiple pumps, or a regen valve, limit your range of speed & power in comparison to our patent pending Power + Splitting System. By using 2 or more cylinders of different size, you have a much wider range of speed & power from a single machine, than can be achieved from a traditional 2 stage pump or regenerative valve. The Power + system gives you a much wider range of capabilities in a single machine. Blazing fast, sub 2 second cycle times & 40 tons of power, all from a 40 HP machine. The examples below use 3” (Small) & 5” (Large) splitter cylinders.
Fast mode powers the small cylinder with 10 tons of splitting force. The small 3" cylinder extends in 1.1 seconds and returns in .6 seconds for a total of 1.7 second cycle time. Power mode powers the large cylinder with 30 tons of splitting force. The large 5" cylinder extends in 3 seconds and the small cylinder still returns the push plate at the same .6 seconds, so the cycle time for the 5" cylinder is 3.6 seconds. Ultra-Power mode powers both cylinders out and provides 40 tons of splitting force. The extend time is 4.1 seconds and return is also .6, for a total of 4.7 seconds cycle time in this mode. All 3 modes have a return time of .6 seconds as the small cylinder always returns the ram, regardless of the split mode (Speed/Power/Ultra-Power) If you’re in the market for a firewood processor but you can’t decide between a fast, european style processor, or a more powerful, but slower processor that’s capable of pushing through a 16-way wedge, now you don’t have to choose. The Patent Pending HAHN Power + Splitting System gives you the best of both worlds in one machine. Coming soon in our model 400/B So what’s all the hype about?
How CAN you get 40 tons of splitting power and less than 2 second cycle time from a 40HP class machine? It’s as easy as 1, 2…. Two splitting cylinders that is. The patent pending HAHN Power + Splitting System uses 2 cylinders to get the best of both worlds, speed & power, from a single machine. If your log inventory varies in size & species, you know there’s no “one size fits all” machine to efficiently handle both your small & large logs. At least until now. Speed mode powers the small cylinder, Power mode powers the large cylinder, and Ultra Power mode powers both cylinders. Regardless of what mode you’re in, the small/fast cylinder returns the ram for blazing fast return in all modes. Whether you’re splitting a 5” log into 2 pieces, a 8” log into 4 pieces, or a 16” log into 16 pieces, the Power + system will ensure you’re cycling as fast as possible through each size log. It’s like getting two machines in one! We’re hoping to have our first machine ready this spring, with production models available late spring, or early summer. If you’re thinking of buying a firewood processor in the near future, you may want to wait and see this new machine before making your decision. There’s a lot going on at HAHN during this Christmas season.
In addition to introducing our newly updated 250/B2 firewood processor, we are proud to announce that we’ve just submitted a new patent application to the US Patent And Trademark Office. We are building a revolutionary new firewood processor that will utilize our new patent pending splitting system. The HAHN 400/B firewood processor will have the following features/specs:
In addition to our new splitting system, the 400/B will include all of the standard features from our current HAHN Mini-Pro 250/B2 processor, including 20” diameter log capacity, a hydraulically pivoting conveyor, tip tray, positive log stop, LED lights, oil cooler, hydraulic live deck and much more. We also plan to incorporate our new patent pending splitting system into a log splitter in early to mid 2026. You’ll get the best of both worlds, the speed of a re-split machine and the power to easily push through a 16-way wedge. If you’re thinking of buying a firewood processor or log splitter in the near future, you may want to wait and see these new machines before making your decision. They really will be a game changer! More details coming soon. Thanks & Merry Christmas! |
